The Ministry recently hosted education workshops at Auckland’s Vahefonua Education & Training Expo to give young people career and education advice.

About 400 young people and families attended the Expo in late January, where almost 40 education and health providers had stalls to promote education and work opportunities to Pacific communities. Click here for full story.

Helping more Pacific young people excel at education and become highly skilled is a priority for the Ministry so our regional advisors took the chance to make face-to-face contact with hundreds of young people at the Expo in Otahuhu.

We’d like to congratulate the young people who came along for taking the time to investigate how to further their education.

Ministry staff and the Vahefonua organisers plan to do follow up work with young people who showed interest in Maori and Pasifika Trades Training by holding night meetings about the Program.

If you want to find out how to get involved in the Training please contact Auckland Regional Advisor, Kalolo Fihaki.
