The Cook Islands Mamas and Papas support group hold weekly programmes in Otara and Mangere, providing a variety of activities, education, health promotion and safety programmes in an environment where language is spoken, respected and valued. Participants frequently attend with family members and/or carers, where they socialise, exercise, enjoy arts and crafts and learn to cook healthy meals, assisting them to live healthily and independently.<br />

He believes the best way to teach Cook Islands language to young people and to the community is through reading the Cook Islands bible and to encourage singing in Cook Islands language: “This helps not only to learn the language but make it fun to learn for kids of all ages and the wider community.” #CILW #CookIslandsLanguageWeek #KukiAirani #KiaOrana #CookIslands #heritage #reo #language
